Having a brand image on social media helps you gain that legitimacy in their eyes. It also gives you a way to quickly communicate with customers that have any issues ordering or have any questions that need to be answered before they order.
Build Your Website
Once you have created your business and have your social platforms thriving, you need to make sure you have a modern, beautiful website. It’s not enough to have a website covered in images that look like it’s straight out of 1998. If your website looks like it was designed to scam people, no one will make purchases on it.
You can easily create beautiful websites now; there are many programs, mentors, and websites that can help you through the process. Make sure your website is simple and elegant; if it is too cluttered it will load more slowly, which is one thing that makes websites rank lower on Google. Also, make sure the purpose of your business is clear from the homepage, so people know exactly what they’re getting when they visit your website.
Have an Email List
From day one, you should focus on building up an email list. Marketing to potential customers through an email list is easily one of the best ways to get customers, and if you do it straight from your website, it can be done completely free. You can pay for email lists that are relevant to your niche, but it is expensive to get real emails that can actually convert into customers; it’s much better to build your email list right off your website organically.
You can also solicit emails for free off of social media. Find a way to entice customers into giving the email; for example, you can offer an exclusive coupon for new customers who provide their email information and get on your mailing list. Make sure you are consistently sending emails but don’t be too frequent; you don’t want to annoy potential buyers.
Have a Blog
To attract people to your website, you should have some sort of blog. Blogs pop up time and time again in search engines, which is a major way you’re going to attract customers to your website. If you don’t feel like you’re a talented writer, there are ways to outsource the blog work. Either way, your online business needs some writing page to get the website to rank in Google.
Having a blog is a way to address customer concerns as well; look at questions that are being asked frequently and find a way to answer all of these concerns in a blog post. This is a great way to send customers the answer to their question whenever it’s asked again – it gets the customer to go to your website and read about it themselves, which makes them more likely to make a purchase afterwards.
Communicate with Customers
You need to communicate with your customers often and directly. It’s not enough to have these methods; you must be active on each platform and communicate with customers freely and openly.
Believe it or not, customers are happy to hear about setbacks the business may be experiencing; they love to be informed and updated on everything, good and bad. You should make sure you communicate everything that could be relevant to the customer; it will help your brand and your online business gain a positive reputation.
You’ll notice that every other company in your niche has reviews; take the time to study the reviews of your competitors so you can see what they are doing well and what they could improve on. You shouldn’t simply copy competitors, but you should implement the positive things they are doing into your business.
For example, if every positive review of a company says the products are made in America, you might focus on finding a way to do the same. If all of the negative reviews mention that the company doesn’t allow you to track your purchases, you’ll know that you should implement tracking into your company to give you the edge over your competitors. If you’ll take the time to read all reviews, you will be well-equipped to tackle the competition.
Run Ads If Possible
If you feel like you need to, you can run ads on social platforms and see if they convert into sales. You can run test ads for cheap and determine if it’s worth it. Since there are so many ways to market without having to spend nearly any money, it might not be worth it for you to run ads. You’ll have to test it with a small budget and decide if it makes sense for your business.
Be willing to try anything to grow your online business. Take the time to develop your brand, and the customers will come.
